A series of events were
planned for the IEEE week
and it began with the
lecture Professor Tapan
Saha. Around sixty
participants attended the
webinar including students
and faculties. Dr Mohd.
Tariq (Chair-IEEE AMU
SIGHT) and Convener of
webinar introduced the
speaker mentioning his
notable achievements and
his experience in guiding
PhD and Masters students.


Amid of coronavirus pandemic to ensure the safety of the students and faculties IEEE Student Branch
ZHCET, Aligarh Muslim University conducted an online webinar on the topic “Role of IEEE in Professional
Building” An expert lecture was delivered by Professor Tapan Saha at the University of Queensland,
Brisbane, Australia.

Prof Tapan Kumar Saha

Topic:

ROLE OF IEEE IN PROFESSIONAL BUILDING

Professor Tapan Saha is a Fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics
Engineers (IEEE) and the Institution of Engineers Australia. He is a Distinguished
Lecturer, IEEE Power & Energy Society. He is an Editorial Board Member for IEEE
Transactions on Power Delivery, IEEE Transactions on Sustainable Energy, and
IEEE Transactions on Dielectrics and Electrical Insulation.
He is Director, Australasian Transformer Innovation Centre and Leader, UQ Solar,
and Industry 4.0 Energy Test Lab.
He has published more than 580 papers in IEEE, IET, and Elsevier Transactions & major power engineering
peer-reviewed conferences. He has successfully supervised 44 PhD & 10 MPhil students as a principal
adviser and currently supervises 14 PhD students.





Agenda

Questions were raised at the
end of talk on what kind of
activities should be held
keeping in mind the COVID-19
pandemic . He is ready to collaborate to IEEE Student Branch at UQ, Australia with IEEE Student Branch AMU
to conduct online events. One of the attendees also asked the questions regarding the higher eduction
opportunities in Australia for Master’s and PhD admissions which are highly competitive professor answered.
The session ended with the vote of thanks by Dr Mohd Tariq, Chair-IEEE AMU SIGHT[Faculty Incharge], EED
AMU.
