Dr. Satish Kumar Singh of IIIT-ALLAHABAD

Biography:

Dr. Satish Kumar Singh is with the Indian Institute of Information Technology Allahabad India, which is declared as an Institute of National Importance by Government of India as Associate Professor at Department of Information Technology from 2013. Before joining the IIIT Allahabad, he served the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, Jaypee University of Engineering and Technology Guna, India from 2005 to 2012. He is having about 14 years of academic and research experience in various capacities at JUET Guna and IIIT Allahabad. Presently he is heading the Computer Vision and Biometrics group and in-charge of the Computer Vision and Biometrics Lab (CVBL) at IIIT Allahabad from 2015 onwards. His group is greatly involved in the research and development of the Signal & Image Processing, Vision, and Biometrics algorithms and system. His areas of interest include Image Processing, Computer Vision, Biometrics, Deep Learning, and Pattern Recognition. He has vast experience of research supervision and supervised many PhDs and masters students in his research career and presently 10 PhD and 11 masters students are doing research in CVBL under his supervision. Dr. Singh and his group published about 60 research articles in various IEEE/ACM transactions and Journals and International conferences of repute. He is the principal investigator and co-principal investigator for various research projects funded from various government funding agencies i.e. Ministry of Defense, Human Resource Development, and Home Affairs Government of India. He received the Ph.D. in Computer Science and Engineering from Jaypee University of Information Technology, Waknaghat, masters degree in Lasers and Applications from Devi Ahilya University Indore and bachelor of technology in Electronics Engineering from Dr. R. M. L. Avadh University Faizabad, India. Dr. Singh is holding various positions to name a few, Local Coordinator, Global Initiative of Academic Network by Ministry of Human Resource and Development, Government of India, Nodal Officer Scheme for Promotion of Academic and Research Collaboration Ministry of Human Resource and Development, Government of India, Convener Departmental Postgraduate Committee, and Faculty I/C Ranking and Accreditation. Dr. Singh is actively offering his services as IEEE Volunteer from last many years in various capacities. Presently he is the senior member of IEEE and also serving as secretary IEEE Uttar Pradesh Section. He is also the founder and the present faculty counselor of IEEE Student Branch, IIIT Allahabad. Dr. Singh is also the secretary, IEEE Signal Processing Society Chapter of Uttar Pradesh Section and organized may impactful events to name a few, IEEE SPS DL in 2015, 16, and 19, IEEE SPS Meeting on Advances in Deep Architectures for Signal Image and Vision Application under the IEEE SPS Member driven initiative in 2019.
