The PES and IAS Chapters will sponsor a technical seminar on the topic of Surge Suppression. The session will be held on Thursday, April 24, 2014 at PSE&G’s Edison Training and Development Center, 234 Pierson Avenue, Edison, NJ 08837. Biography: Tom Butcher is the Vice President Technical Services & Training for Surge Suppression Incorporated in Destin, FL. He has been with Surge Suppression Incorporated since October 1999. He has been in the power quality/surge protection field since 1985. Tom is a Senior Member of the NW Florida Section IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers) and a certified IEEE CEU/PDH instructor. He is also a member of NFPA (National Fire Protection Association) and SAME (Society of American Military Engineers). Tom has been conducting power quality studies and presenting Professional Development and Continuing Education seminars on surge protective devices and power quality to Professional Engineers, Electrical Engineers, and Facility and Project Managers since 1986.
