Biography:
Murali has been an entrepreneur and has over 25 years of experience that includes business development, technology management, product
engineering, marketing and power systems engineering. He currently oversees the “NextNew” portfolio at Machani Group that includes Virtual Reality, Digital Humans, Computer Vision, Humanoid Robotics and Electric Mobility. He also serves as a member of the Board and is an
Advisor to several startups in India and overseas. Murali has had a background with electric vehicles starting in 1991. He has designed and built electric vehicles that have won several competitions in the US. He has also designed, built and tested drive trains based on battery, ultracapacitor and hydrogen fuel cell technologies. Prior to his role at the Machani Group, Murali was the Executive Director of Essential Energy a wholly owned subsidiary of Intelligent Energy) and was responsible for Solutions Engineering and Business Development. Murali was a co-founder of Jadoo Power Systems based out of Folsom, California and served Jadoo in several roles including Chief Technology Officer and Chief Executive Officer. Prior to Jadoo, Murali worked as a researcher at the Institute of Transportation Studies at the University of California-Davis and as a research assistant at the Center for Electrochemical Systems and Hydrogen Research at Texas A&M University where he worked extensively on electric vehicles and electric vehicle drive trains. At University of California - Davis, he was instrumental in setting up the electric vehicle laboratory and doing research on various battery, fuel cell and ultracapacitor based electric and hybrid electric drive trains. He was selected as the Entrepreneur of the Year for Northern California in 2006 by Ernst & Young. He also has nine awarded patents related to fuel cell technology. Murali holds a MS degree in Electrical Engineering from Texas A&M University and a BE degree in Electrical Power Systems from Osmania University (India).
