Power Grid Management during Pandemic: An Indian Scenario
Biography:
Dr. Chandrasekhar Perumalla received his B. Tech degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering from Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Hyderabad in 2006, received M. Tech degree from National Institute of Technology Rourkela in Electrical Engineering with specialization in Power Control and Drives in the year 2009 and Ph. D degree in Electrical Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology Delhi in 2014. Dr. Chandrasekhar is presently working as Assistant Professor in the School of Electrical Sciences at IIT Bhubaneswar. He was the Topper and received Institute Medals all through his academics, from schooling to Ph. D studies. Dr. Chandrasekhar’s research interests include Control and Integration of Renewable Energy Systems, Design and Development of Smart Controllers for Microgrid/Smart Grid Systems,
Control of Active Distribution Systems, Energy Management in Hybrid AC/DC Microgrid Systems, Artificial Intelligence applications in Power and Energy Systems, Electric Vehicles and Application of Power Electronics to Power Systems. Dr. Chandrasekhar’s research contributions are published in prestigious international journals like, IEEE Transactions, IET Proceedings and Elesevier’s/Science Direct journals including in papers in different national and international conferences. He has written chapters in books published by IEEE and Wiley.
Dr. Chandrasekhar has been selected as Young Scientist by National Environmental Science Academy (NESA) in 2020, received Young Engineer Award from the Institution of Engineers (India) in the year 2017, Early Career Research Award (Young Scientist) from DST, Government of India in 2016; Prestigious Indo-US Postdoctoral Fellowship to conduct research at University of Illinois in 2017, SERB-Overseas Postdoctoral Fellowship to conduct research at Aalborg University, Denmark in 2017; He has been selected as Transnational Access Researcher in 2017 to work at The National Smart Grid Laboratory, Norway under H2020 Program. He is Rosalind Member of London Journals
Press (UK), 2020. He has received Innovative Ph. D Thesis Award (Best Thesis) from Indian National Academy of Engineering (INAE) for the year 2015. Dr. Chandrasekhar has received International Travel Support Award (Young Scientist) from SERB, DST, GoI in the year
2016. He has received Madusudan Memorial Medal by The Institution of Engineers (India) in 2009 and POSOCO Award from Power Grid Corporation of India in 2013. He won the title “Best Innovative Idea” from The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) University, Delhi in
the year 2011.
