Topic:

Renewable power generation and energy storage systems

Renewables are known as those sources that are eventually available and recomposed by the nature. Bio, solar, wind, and hydro, are the main representatives of this class of power generation. Intermittence of the primary energy is the main common drawback of those sources. In order to reduce the effects of the intermittence, several techniques of storage systems have been developed to accommodate the several power and time scaled issues. At the end, the audience will be able to read, understand, and talk about the intermittence of those kinds of primary energy, the role of the several techniques employed to the store energy, and the power supply based on renewable generation. Simple methods to design and evaluate storage systems based on the power and time scale problems will be presented.
