The SA GigCity Program
The South Australian Government’s Gig City Program, established in 2016, provides access to affordable, ultra-fast connectivity for businesses located in 23 GigCity Precincts located in the Adelaide metropolitan area and in the regional towns of Whyalla and Mt Gambier. In this talk, Peter will describe the policy rationale, how GigCity has been implemented, the outcomes of the Gig City program todate and what the future of GigCity holds.

Peter Triantafilou of Telecommunications Specialist, Department for Innovation and Skills
Biography:
Peter is currently employed by the Government of South Australia in the Department for Innovation and Skills as a
Telecommunications Specialist. He is an experienced and accomplished telecommunications professional with over 25 years of
experience in telecommunications strategy, policy development and successful delivery of significant infrastructure projects including
the Broadband SA Program, AdelaideFree Wi-Fi, mobile black spots and the GigCity Program. He has a BE (Electrical and Electronic)
from Adelaide University and an MBA from University of South Australia. Peter is a Graduate Member, Australian Institute of
Company Directors and is a Member of the Telecommunications Society of Australia (Telsoc) (Board Member 2017 to 2019)
