Dr. Syed Khalid Pasha
A Journey from Nano Biosensors to Thin-film Processing at Intel.
Our Virtual event is designed to be an interactive session with the speaker and student. In this session, the speaker will briefly speak about the past, present, and future of Nanotechnology research and share her experience with a presentation (around 30 mins talk). Students will have the opportunity to dialog and Q&A session (around 10-15 mins) with the speaker about the current state of the art Nanotechnology research.
Biography:
Dr. Syed Khalid Pasha is working as a Thin Films process engineer in Intel Corporation, where he is working on manufacturing state of the art microprocessors for Mobile, desktop, and server applications using Nano/Microfabrication techniques.
He is an alumnus of FIU and did his Ph.D. in Electrical and computer engineering from the Dept of ECE, under the tutelage of Prof Shekhar Bhansali. His field of study was Micro/Nano based biosensors for non-invasive detection of Cortisol. After graduating from FIU he worked as a Post-doctoral researcher in Nano Biosensors lab at University of Central Florida where his areas of interests included exploring the use of 3d printing techniques for fabricating microneedles and biomechanical interfaces to be used as neural implants.
Before coming to FIU he did his masters in physics from Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi, and worked with III-V Semiconductor ultra-thin film fabrication and characterization techniques(for use in LED and Microwave devices) at the Surface Science group of National physical Laboratory, New Delhi, India.
Khalid is a DIY enthusiast and likes to spend his time either tinkering stuff, repurposing cardboard boxes into useful stuff at home, or foraging for mushrooms on hikes.
