AGENDA

Topic I

Radiated emission and immunity of small electronic devices in GTEM cells

Date

13th April 2021, 9:30 – 10:45

Description

The results of investigations in field uniformity and volume uniformity in GTEMs will be presented. The basics of emission measurement in comparison to anechoic chambers will be mentioned. The example on how to calculate the uncertainty budget will be shown.

Speaker

Jan Sroka
Warsaw University of Technology, Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Institute of Theoretical Electrotechnics and Information and Measurement Systems Department of High Voltage and Electromagnetic Compatibility

Topic II

EMC in reverberation chambers

Date

13th April 2021, 11:00 – 12:15

Description

The talk explains basic properties of reverberation chambers and presents some exemplary practical chambers with their parameters. The normative chamber validation as well as emission measurements and immunity tests are briefly explained. Finally, advantages and disadvantages are discussed.

Speaker

Mathias Magdowski
Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg, Institute for Medical Technics

Topic III

ESD in Automotive In-Vehicle Networks

Date

13th April 2021, 12:30 – 13:45

Description

New trends in automotive engineering such as electrification and autonomous driving are big challenges for automotive networks. With increasing amount of data, there is no room for failure in such networks. In a rough automotive environment, Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) is a very importance event which can cause a malfunction and irreversible damage of the entire system. In this teleconference, it will be shown how the ESD challenges can be managed for dedicated automotive applications such as LIN, CAN, Ethernet and High-Speed Multimedia links. It will be discussed how an external ESD protection device can increase the level the system level robustness and what are the key selection parameter for an ESD protection device to fit for the automotive requirements.
