Three Days Workshop on Cloud Computing

The IEEE-SB GEU Dehradun (STB06701) organized the “Three Days Workshop on Cloud Computing” event from 28th- 30th January 2021. The event was organized by GEU IEEE STUDENT BRANCH, Department of Computer Science and Engineering & Institution’s Innovation Council (IICs), Ministry of Education (MoE), Govt. of India, held at Graphic Era Deemed to be University, Dehradun, Uttarakhand, India. This Workshop was mainly intended for faculties and students currently doing research work, projects and those who are interested to take up projects in the field of Cloud Computing.

Dr. Priya Matta, Associate Professor (IEEE Student Branch Counselor), Department of Computer Science and Engineering, addressed the students and encouraged them to participate in such technical workshops. She also made them aware of emerging technologies and related research trends.

 

130+ students and faculty members from various organizations have participated in the workshop. Out of these, 50+ participants were IEEE members. 

 

Ms. Neelam Singh, Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Applications, was the first speaker of the workshop. She started the workshop explaining the introductory topics of Cloud Computing & Major Players. She also discussed the concept of Virtualization. Ms. Sarishma, Assistant Professor, (Google Cloud Platform Certified Cloud Architect), Department of Computer Science and Engineering, GEU, was the second speaker. She elaborated Google Cloud Platform & it’s Services to the participants. Dr. Preeti Mishra, Associate Professor,Department of Computer Science and Engineering, GEU talked about Amazon Web Services on the final day of the workshop. She also gave hands on session to the participants for the same.

Prof. (Dr.) D. P. Singh, Head of Department, gave vote of thanks and spoke about the importance of the workshop and encouraged the scholars and students to participate in such events.
