Arduino is an open-source platform used for building electronics projects. It is popular for the convenience of having programmable circuit board (microcontroller) and a piece of software, or IDE (Integrated Development Environment) that runs on your computer, used to write and upload computer code to the physical board.

We teach 3 basic categories of hardware programming with the Arduino Uno:

  1. Sensors: light sensors, and motion sensors
  2. Outputs: Direct Current (DC) motors, servo motors, Light Emitting Diodes (LED)
  3. Switches: push buttons
