Ladies and Gentlemen,
In light of our recent need for social isolation, Kohler would like to invite you in this series of live webinars over lunch. The topics below will cover the basics and application of a backup power system (including Backup Generator, ATS, Switchgear etc). The sessions will be happening every 2 weeks for 11 sessions starting July 16th. The topics are listed below in the order intended currently and may change if the need arises.
Requirements for earning PDH credits. Per NY State Education Department (NYSED).

- Attendance is required for the entire session, Please login with your work email to the Microsoft Teams Platform (By your computer app or via Chrome/Edge browser). Without a name/email, we cannot determine attendance for awarding PDH.
- Participation is required by NYSED. There will be questions throughout the presentation to evaluate learning during the courses.
- There will be surveys sent after each course, this is also required by NYSED.
- Courses need to be 60 mins of Educational content. 10 extra minutes is added for any technical issues or Q&A during the sessions.

Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS) 101: Basics - 1 PDH (60 minutes)
Automatic transfer switches allow the loads to be fed from either the Utility or backup power sources as its most common use case. In this course we will dive into the basics of automatic transfer switches, their purpose, associated Codes and Standards, types of ATS, and typical installations. This course also touches on ATS controllers, withstand ratings, and power switching methods.
Biography:
Rumman Kabir currently works as a Engineered Solutions Manager at Kohler. Electrical Engineer by Education, he is been working in the backup power industry for more than 12 years. His career evolved from designing the controls system for Generators, ATS, Switchgear to providing Application support to consulting engineers and teams across North America. For the last 6 years he has worked in the Northeastern US states with engineers, end users and local distribution organizations. His specialty includes control systems, paralleling, codes/standards, design best practices etc. Rumman regularly speaks at engineering conferences and seminars on various technical topics.
Kohler is a manufacturer of Diesel and Gas generator sets from 15K-4000KW for backup and prime power applications. 2020 marks 100 years of Kohler in Power Generation. Website: www.kohlerpower.com
