Eng. Michelle Boit; a consultant (Petroleum Engineering) and the founder of Michelle Boit foundation, where she mentors young engineers. She is the Board of Chair for Kenyatta University SPE Chapter. Michelle worked for BP in the US and was recently a Senior production Engineer for Tullow Oil (Kenya) before taking on her current role with Glencore (Chad) as Wells Operations Engineer. Michelle has a background in Production and Petroleum Engineering, Project Management, Oil and Gas Field Operations Management, Reservoir Management, Well Integrity, and Artificial Lift System. Michelle holds a BSc. Chemical Engineering from Texas Tech University (US) and an Executive MBA Global Leadership from University of Texas (US).

 

Simay Akar has been working in the energy industry since 2012. She specialized in photovoltaic manufacturing, battery storage for electric vehicles and other renewable energy technologies, and the clean energy markets development. Akar is currently the Chief Commercial Officer & Co-Founder at Innoses. Additional current roles include Sales & Marketing Director of EkoRE – Eko Renewable Energy and Marketing & Business Development Director of GoodWe Turkey, Head of Overseas Marketing at Talesun Solar. Akar has worked in China and Turkey and mostly focused on international commercial activities and has been employed by CSUN EurasiaSchneider ElectricArcelik (BEKO), and Lucida Solar. In addition to her professional acclimates, she is an IEEE Senior member, acknowledged volunteer since 2007. Simay is a graduate of Middle East Technical University, Ankara, Turkey, and she participated Energy Innovation and Emerging Technologies Program at Stanford University.

Dr. Celia Shahnaz, SMIEE, Fellow IEB, received Ph.D. from Concordia University, Canada. Currently a Professor, Department of EE, BUET, Bangladesh since 2015, Chair of IEEE Bangladesh Section, and IEEE PES Women in Power R10 representative. She is the author of more than 150 international journal/conference papers, winner of countless awards. She has over 20 years of experience (20 years as an IEEE volunteer) of leading impactful Technical, Professional, Educational, industrial, Women Empowerment, and Humanitarian Technology and PES-related projects at national/international levels.

 

Esther Muchiri is the founder and executive director of eMentoring Africa, a not-for-profit organization transforming the youth through online and face-to-face mentorship programs (www.ementoringafrica.or.ke). She is the 2020/2021 Vice-chair of IEEE (Kenya Section) and a IEEE-Women-in-Engineering member (WIE). In 2015, Esther chaired an initiative under the ICT Authority in Kenya to motivate more girls to join the Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) careers. Esther also coordinated and managed the setup of the 1st IEEE Exhibits in Kenya located at the Kenyatta University Chandaria Business Innovation and Incubation Centre (Chandaria-BIIC), where university and high school students continue to visit and learn about Engineering. Esther is an Advisory Council member of the Presidential Digital Talent Program (PDTP) and a KEPSA Gender & Youth Sub-Sector Committee member. She holds an MBA and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Information Systems and Technology from United States International University (USIU), Kenya.  She is a certified eLearning in Practice (Design, Development, Management, and Tutoring) Expert with InWent, Germany; and a certified Mentoring Program Manager with Mentoring University (USA - online). Esther is also a winner of the “Goldman Sachs 10000 Women Entrepreneur Program” scholarship (2010) and a fellow in the Rockefeller Global Fellowship Program for Social Innovation 2015-2016.
