What is the expected results and the processes used in order to achieve it. How those original ideas transformed over time, and what it looks like today.

Biography:

Speaker Bio:

Tom Timcho is a Sr. Technical Principal and Asst. VP with WSP (formerly Parsons-Brinkerhoff), a leading international civil engineering firm with nearly 10,000 US employees, where he serves as project manager, lead systems engineer, and subject matter expert related to transportation technology.  Tom has been associated with the Smart Columbus program since day one, participating in the earliest planning meetings in 2015 during which time the City considered pursuit of the USDOT Smart City Challenge grant.  He was then a major contributor to both rounds of the grant application process, and since its award in June of 2016, has led four of the original 15 projects associated with the overall Smart Columbus program.  Presently, Tom is focused on the Connected Vehicle deployment, where vehicles and infrastructure are being equipped with potentially life-saving wireless technology.  Tom is supporting similar deployments of CV along the US 33 Smart Mobility Corridor between Dublin and the Transportation Research Center (TRC), and has supported similar in Virginia, New York, Florida, Michigan and Minnesota.  Tom is a Project Management Professional (PMP) as recognized by the Project Management Institute (PMI).  Tom has been a member of IEEE for 31 years and was recently elevated to IEEE Sr. Member status.
