Creating a ‘WE Culture’
This presentation will outline three key aspects of ‘we culture’ in any organization similar to NJIT or IEEE – ‘a sense of place’ (WHERE); ’a sense of being’ (WHO) and ‘a sense of purpose’ (WHY). Around these three elements the culture of any organization/Institution/group grows and flourishes. If these three key aspects are addressed to all members of the organization, a ‘culture of WE’, a ‘culture of belongingness’, ‘rootedness’ and ‘stewardship’ can be created. Once an awareness of the WHERE, WHO & WHY is developed one can go forward with the final element - ‘a sense of proceeding towards our goal’’ (HOW). In a ‘culture of WE’, the members of the community share their stories, experiences and these become the building blocks that keep them together (shared identity) and their shared values fuel them forward towards a common goal.

Biography: Mr. Clayton M Moses is a motivational speaker and is currently the Academic Advisor of Kalyan Bharti Trust, an umbrella organization of many academic institutions including Heritage Institute of Technology in Kolkata, India. He is also a Soft Skills Coordinator & Trainer of all 1st year B Tech, MCA & MBA students, Coordinator of National Social Service activities at Heritage Institute of Technology Kolkata and Head, Centre of Student Affairs. In the field of education since 1973 he has spent 38 wonderful years of an exciting association with young people all over the sub-continent. His experience includes from unforgettable teaching-learning experiences at many premier institutes like Mount Hermon School (Darjeeling) and Goethals Memorial School (Kurseong). He served as teacher and Educational administrator (Vice Principal) at St Xaviers Collegiate School (Calcutta) and as the Principal and Administrator at ITC Bhadrachalam Public School & Junior College (Andhra Pradesh). Besides experience and expertise in teaching (Ignatian Pedagogical Paradigm & Action Research) and educational administration, he has been actively involved in Public Speaking, Drama, Educational Management & Teaching Strategies Training Programmes for School & College faculty & Community Social Outreach projects.
