On 19th April, 2021 IEEE BUBT Student Branch and IEEE BUBT PES Student Branch Committee arranged a seminar on Distributed Parallel Optimization for Addressing the Scalability and Privacy Issues of Energy Communities. The seminar started at 9.00 pm, according to Bangladesh time. The honorable speaker was Dr. Pieluigi Siano. He is a Professor and Scientific Director of the Smart Grids and Smart Cities Laboratory with the Department of Management & Innovation Systems, University of Salerno. Also, he is editor for the Power & Energy Society Section of IEEE Access, IEEE TRANSACTIONS ON POWER SYSTEMS, IEEE TRANSACTIONS ON INDUSTRIAL INFORMATICS, IEEE TRANSACTIONS ON INDUSTRIAL ELECTRONICS, IEEE Systems, Open Journal of the IEEE IES, IET Smart Grid and IET Renewable Power Generation.

After a short introduction, our honorable speaker discussed the topic in details. He talked about benefits of energy communities, Procurement of flexibility resources in the ancillary services market, developed architecture for the larg-scale aggregation of prosumers, distribution paralleized LP based optimization and showed some simulation.

After a brief discussion a certificate was given to our honorable speaker Dr. Pieluigi Siano by IEEE BUBT Student Branch and IEEE BUBT PES SB Committee.  After a short discussion and solving some raised question, the seminar was ended.
