Entrepreneurship Awareness Camp
Three-days Entrepreneurship Awareness Camp was organized at Faculty of Engineering, Teerthanker Mahaveer University, Moradabad sponsored by Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India under the aegis of the Department of Science and Technology (DST) & National Science & Technology Entrepreneurship Board (NSTEDB), Government of India from 28 to 30 December 2020.
The camp was inaugurated with the prayer of Goddess of wisdom Maa Saraswati. The first day of the camp was graced by the presence of the Chief Guest Prof Raghuvir Singh, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Teerthanker Mahaveer University, Moradabad, Prof. (Dr.) R K Dwivedi, Director and Principal, FoE&CS and Key Note Speaker Shri Mahendra Kumar Gupta, CEO iNurture Incubation Foundation, Entrepreneur Motivational Instructor. Chief Program coordinator Mr. Pradeep Kumar Verma welcomed all the guests with basil plant.
At the beginning of the camp, Prof. R.K. Dwivedi enlightened the students with a detailed discussion about the importance of entrepreneurship camp. He explained that the government and non-government organizations are conducting awareness campaigns in universities for promoting entrepreneurship and self-reliance. He also shared with students the success story of entrepreneur Bill Gates, co-founder and president of Microsoft. He told the students that a successful entrepreneur must possess qualities like self-confidence, decision-making ability, leadership ability.
After this, the Chief Guest of the program, Prof. Raghuvir Singh, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Teerthanker Mahaveer University said that new thinking, better vision and workability give birth to a great entrepreneur. He shared inspiring success stories of the founders of the company like Birla, Reliance, Paytm. He also explained the reasons why some newly established businesses fail. Since India is a developing country, we should contribute in the GDP of the country by creating jobs. The key note speaker of the day Mr. Mahendra Gupta, Entrepreneur Motivational Instructor, said that the problems of the society in which we live, should be solved according to our ability using technology. He said that we understand economics and technology as two different poles, but until technology students have knowledge of economics, we will not get new startups from them. He said that if the new energy and new ideas of students get the right direction, then the problem of unemployment can be overcomed to a large extent. In the concluding ceremony of the first day of the camp, the Principal Prof. Dwivedi presented a memento to Mr. Mahendra Gupta.
Keynote speaker of the second day of the camp, Mr. Vikas Yadav, Deputy Manager, State Bank of India, discussed in detail the financial aspects required to start the startup. He explained how the startup is different from traditional business. Mr. Yadav apprised the students about various schemes of the Government of India and banks regarding financial cooperation to encourage new business.
After this, Mr. Ajay Sethi founder and Mr. Nitin Sagar Developer ParkPlug app., shared their journey of startup with participants. Both of them are the alumni of the institution. They discussed how their ParkPlug started and ranked 32nd in Play Store's successful app. Students were also encouraged to see their seniors as successful entrepreneurs.
On the last day of the workshop, Ms. Neha Anand, Assistant Professor in the Department of Humanities-FoE, made students aware about the usefulness of international language in business. Ms. Anand conducted many interesting activities. In which the students participated with great eagerness and appreciated them.
In the valedictory function of the camp, Professor (Dr.) RK Dwivedi distributed certificates to the students and appreciated the efforts of Chief Program Coordinator Mr. Pradeep Kumar Verma, Asst. Prof. EE Department and his team members Mr. Ankit Sharma (Asst. Prof. CE Department), Mr. Vineet Jaiswal (Asst. Prof. EC Department), Mr. Arun Kumar (Asst. Prof. ME Department), Mr. Umesh Singh (Asst. Prof. EE Department) and Mr. Gopal Kumar Gupta (Asst. Prof. Mathematics Department) for the successful event.
