Emerging Research Trends in Power Electronics and Allied Areas

Biography:

Prof. G. Bhuvaneswari (Fellow, IEEE) received the B.E. degree in electrical and electronics engineering from the College of Engineering, Anna University Madras, Chennai, India, in 1985 and the M.Tech. and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering from IIT Madras, Chennai, India, in 1988 and 1992. After completing her Ph.D., she worked as a Faculty in the Department of EEE College of Engineering Madras for over one year; then, she was working with the Electrical Utility Company ComEd, Chicago Illinois USA for about three years. She then returned to India to join IIT Delhi. She has been working as a Faculty Member with IIT Delhi, New Delhi, India, since August 1997. She has over 190 publications in national and international journals and conferences. Her research interest include power electronics and machines and all their application areas like power supply, power quality, HVDC, electric drives and renewable energy. She was currently the coordinator of Sumant Sinha ReNew Centre of Excellence in Energy and Environment, IIT Delhi. Prof. Bhuvaneswari is a Fellow IEEE-USA, Institution of Engineers-India, Indian National Academy of Engineering, Institution of Engineering & Technology-UK and IETE-India. She is also receipt of 2018 PES Wanda Reder Pioneer in Power Award.
