On 10^th May 2021, IEEE BUBT Student Branch (STB03252), IEEE COMSATS Islamabad, IEEE YP Kenya, IEEE Jansons Institute of Technology Student Branch organized a workshop on Basic Adobe Illustrator. Adobe Illustrator Software 2019 was provided to all the participants.

The speaker at this event was Md Al Araf, who is a student of EEE dept. from BUBT, also an IEEE BUBT SB and IEEE PES BUBT SB member. He is working as a Creative Designer at IEEE BUBT SB.

The workshop started at 3 PM (UTC+6). The purpose of this event was to expand one’s creative skills with this incredible set of Illustrator tutorials that cover a wide range of subjects, from simple icons to patterns and detailed illustrations.

The seminar started with a warm welcome and honouring our guest by Naznin Nahar Akhi, Joint General Secretary of IEEE WIE BUBT SB Affinity group.

After a short introduction, Md. Al Araf started his tutorials with Adobe Illustrator. He started with basic line draw to editing pictures. He taught us how to draw different things, and to use different shapes. Also showed us various features in Adobe Illustrator and how we can use them to ease out creative works. He gave various examples by drawing different shapes to show how to use each feature. By using these simple features, we can design and edit our own designs. Adobe Illustrator is very easy to use and the features are quite simple, so we can learn further by starting with these simple features. In this workshop, Md. Al Araf covered the topics Type Tool, Rotate Tool, Shape Builder Tool, Artboard, Alignment, Shape and Patternmaking, Gradient and Fonts. These are all the basic things that will help us to make our own digital art.

This event was greatly helpful for the participants. This event was inspiring to students who are working with IEEE events and also who wants to work as a designer. The event was ended with a warm feeling of thankfulness towards the speaker and the guests.
