A two days webinar on “Smart Materials for Future Applications” was organized by department of Physics on 16^th and 17^th June 2020.

The webinar was convened by Prof. S.P. Pandey, Department of Physics.

The webinar was graced by the presence of esteemed guests:

The materials and their science has driven and been driven by the development of revolutionary technologies such as rubber, plastic, semiconductors, bio-materials. Now, due to its performance and quick response, the materials are smart materials. The field of materials, now, has broadened to every class of materials including polymers, semiconductors, magnetic materials, bio-materials and nano-materials, energy materials.

Over all, the basis of science of materials is the study of structure of materials and relating them to their properties. Once the correlation of materials is known, the materials become smart with high performance. A material is intended to be used for certain applications. The materials have offered a significant effect on our life via their applications. Now days, a lot of efforts are being devoted by the researchers, scientists and academicians to make the materials more advanced and more smart i.e. for its high performance and quick responsive.

These Two days were important for us to know about the smart materials and their future applications from various experts of material scientists. The National Webinar had 4 sessions and six experts delivered their presentations on various aspects of materials and its applications.

In the valediction session Dr. S. P. Pandey extended his gratitude to Prof. Raghuvir Singh, Prof. (Dr) R. K. Diwedi, he also extended his thanks to all the distinguished speakers from the renowned institutions, for making excellent presentations and making this national webinar interesting and meaningful.

He also expressed his thanks to all the participants from different parts of the country, who  participated in the national webinar and constantly listened to the experts, and shown their interest in question and answers and boosted their knowledge from their places during such pandemic crises due to covid–19.

He thanked all the professors and faculty members from other departments who gave their valuable suggestions and support to make this webinar successful, specially, Prof. Asim Ahmad  and all faculty of Chemistry department for their support. 

He also thanked HOD-Physics, Dr. Amit Sharma for his moral support and also thanked all the faculty members of his department Dr. Parag Agarwal, Dr. Vishnu Srivastava, Dr. Pavan Kumar Singh and Dr. Diptonil Banarjee, for their moral and physical support.
