- Crowd source solutions for improving governance and quality of life
- Provide opportunity to citizens to provide innovative solutions to India’s daunting problems
The first three editions SIH2017, SIH2018 and SIH2019 proved to be extremely successful in promoting innovation, out-of-the-box thinking in young minds, especially engineering students from across India. SIH 2020 has two editions Software and Hardware. Software Edition is a 32 Hour Nonstop coding competition where as Hardware Edition is a 5 days Product Building Competition. SIH 2020 is a 4th Season of Smart India Hackathon. This year Every college will conduct Internal Hackathon and will select 7 Teams (5 Software & 2 Hardware) for Grand Finale of SIH 2020 along with 2-2 waitlist teams for both categories.
Faculty of Engineering (FoE) organized an internal hackathon for scrutinizing SIH 2020 entries. Total 19 teams participated in Hackathon held in two categories, Hardware and Software. Students developed their selected idea, from SIH 2020 portal.
Students worked together over the last few weeks following a phased approach. During the hackathon, participants worked together to develop a shared problem statement by SIH 2020. They also brainstormed and prioritized the critical barriers to adaptability and developed the design rules for creating adaptable organizations. Then they began idea and team registration process. Around 114 students registered for the event with selected idea and team members. Participants fleshed out their ideas further over 19 teams formed around the most promising hacks, and these were developed further during internal hackathon. Teams presented their work to the jury members.
Students demonstrated their idea and implementation to the jury. Based on innovativeness and effectiveness of the presented work juries selected 7 teams from Software category and 4 teams from Hardware category for SIH 2020.
These 11 selected teams will be making the faculty of Engineering official nominations to Smart India Hackathon 2020.
The selected teams of Internal Hackathon will undergo the formal SIH 2020 procedure of further short-listing the teams (from among the institutes across India) for the Grand Finale. Certificates are distributed to all participants.
