Smart India Hackathon 2020


To promote awareness among Higher Educational Institutes across India about Smart India Hackathon 2020, a webinar was organised by MIC-MHRD on 24th Jan 2020. Dr. Mohit Gambhir, Innovation Director of MHRD’s Innovation Cell, Govt. of India conducted this special session with objective to promote awareness and resolve common queries about SIH of both students and technical institutes. College of Computing Sciences & Information Technology, TMU organised the webinar in LT-2 in which more than 200 students and 40 plus faculties participated in the event. Dr. Mohit enumerates the procedure for participation in SIH 2020 to be followed by HEI’s and their students. He also discuss that institute willing to participate in SIH2020 had to conduct internal hackathon and share the photographs & videos of the event. Finally he discusses about the common issues that emerges due to common emission in form filling and how to resolve them or prevent such errors. He motivates the students to participate in SIH 2020 by dictating the benefits of participation. After the completion of event, principal of CCSIT Dr. Rakesh Kumar Dwivedi says motivating words to students and urge them to participate in large number, the internal hackathon conducted by the college. Mr. Ashish Bishnoi, Convener of CCSIT-IIC has anchored the entire event and students are asked to contact him for participation or query regarding SIH 2020.

Biography:

Dr Mohit Gambhir is working as the Innovation Director, MoE's Innovation Cell, Govt. of India. MIC is committed to systematically foster Innovation culture in all Higher Education Institutions (HEIs). The primary mandate of Innovation Cell is to encourage, inspire and nurture young students by exposing them to new ideas and processes resulting in innovative activities in their formative years fostered through Network of Innovation clubs in HEIs.

Dr Gambhir is involved in leading multiple initiatives driven by MIC, such as Toycathon2021 (an inter ministerial program), ASEAN- India hackathon, Singapore-India Hackathon '18 & '19, Smart India Hackathons, establishment of IICs, ARIIA rankings, NISP, YUKTI 2.0 and have been active member of many other various high level committees. He has also taken charge of Govt. of India's flagship program 'SMART INDIA HACKATHON 2021' as 'Chairman' of the Executive Committee.

Dr Gambhir belongs to the first breed of Techno-Legal professionals out of India, by qualification he is a PhD in Computer Engineering and LL.B (JD equivalent) in IPR. Working at the Level of CXO, he gained rich experience in building companies from scratch with limited resources to a smooth sailing operations with lot of market credibility. He has extensive work experience in IP space, such as patent portfolio generation, advising inventors / corporate in channelising their IP activities, Tech transfer, Technology scouting, Technology Landscapes, Patent monetisation, Licensing & due dilegence activities, etc.

Verispire, Dr. Gambhir's latest venture, is engaged in creating valuable business assets for its clients by safeguarding their IP rights. It provides customized and high quality services to high-tech and low-tech industries by utilizing their rich talent pool having both a depth of knowledge and breadth of experience.
