Linearization of RF Power Amplifiers connecting simulation and measurements on physical devices
IEEE North Jersey Section Co-sponsors the event
This webinar is intended for engineers who design and test RF power amplifiers, concentrating on possible amplifier efficiency improvements by adopting dedicated topologies and linearization. We will be introducing the need for, and the benefits of, linearization and digital pre-distortion (DPD). By reference to a basic RF power amplifier and a Gallium Nitride (GaN) device, we will be discussing the advantages of combining simulation and real measurements to investigate memory polynomial DPD. You will learn how you can implement a faster and more accurate design process for an efficient RF front end. Using proper modeling ensures a high correlation between simulation and real measurements for amplifier behavior and linearization, speeding up the development and optimization of amplifier capabilities. We will show how to predict amplifier behavior with different linearization techniques and optimize DPD for an RF power amplifier. Comparison with real-world behavior provides objective analysis of both simulation and DPD approaches. Practical modeling and measurement examples with non-linear devices will be illustrating this webinar.
