Progress at Silentium Defence
In this presentation, I will provide a brief summary of the Silentium Defence journey to date, a high-level overview of Silentium Defence’s passive radar products, and detail our recent efforts in establishing a new space observatory with support of the Australian Space Agency’s International Space Investment: Expand Capability grant. The project partners for this grant include Western Sydney University and Swedish Space Corporation.

Dr James Palmer of Silentium Defence
Biography:
Dr James Palmer is a co-founder and the Chief Executive Officer of Silentium Defence. James is an internationally recognised subject matter expert on Passive Radar signal processing and system development.
James graduated with a Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical and Electronic) and Bachelor of Arts (double major in Japanese) degree in 2002 from the University of Queensland in Brisbane, Australia. He received his PhD degree in Electrical Engineering from the same institution in 2007. Prior to founding Silentium Defence, James spent over a decade in the Department of Defence at DST Group.
James received commercialisation training through CSIRO’s ON Accelerate programme and is the inaugural recipient of the Stanford Australia Foundation CSIRO Scholarship. The scholarship supported James’ participation in the Executive Program for Growing Companies executive course at Stanford University in 2017. James recently participated in the South Australian State Government funded FIXE Leadership programme targeted at start up business founders
