Department of Civil Engineering is organised a one day technical webinar occasion of World Environment Day for the awareness of the students of B.Tech Civil IV, III & II year successfully via zoom app platform on 05/06/2021.
Earlier, initiating the program, Coordinator Mr. Ankit Sharma said that India is the only country in the world where earth is called mother. Therefore, it is our responsibility to save the earth from pollution.
This webinar started with welcome speech of Dr. Ravi Jain (Prof. & HOD, Civil Engg.) in which he welcomed the key note speaker of webinar Dr. K. D. Yadav, Associate Professor, NIT Saurat, Gujrat, and Prof. (Dr.) R. K. Dwivedi, Principal, FOECS, TMU, Moradabad. He also motivate the students by his speech. He told that the celebration of World Environment Day started from June 5, 1972. He informed that this year the theme of Environment Day is 'Restoration of Ecosystem' and this time Pakistan is the global host country. Referring to the Jain doctrine, he said that a basic sentence is Anarthadand Vrat. According to which we should not misuse anything given by nature like water, electricity, air, food etc.
Professor RK Dwivedi, director of the college, said that while talking about the ecosystem restoration theme, he said that we need to combine it. The corona pandemic taught us the importance of oxygen. Therefore, we should fulfill our responsibility towards the environment by planting trees. He said that the Civil Engineering Department has taken the responsibility of celebrating this Environment World Day as the environmental subject is an integral part of Civil Engineering. We all should fulfill our duty towards the environment properly. So that the coming generation can also take advantage of the nature.
This Webinar provided the opportunity to the students to know about the environmental issues and their responsibilities to solve these issues.

The keynote speaker, Dr. Yadav suggested the engineering students to do more and more work in the field of alternative energy, waste management, sustainable development, sewage treatment and prevention of toxic gases. So that the environment can be saved from being polluted. Dr. K.D. Yadav told about the importance of reuse, re-purpose and re-cycle. He also discussed in detail about his research on making compost from waste flowers.
