Concrete Mix Design - Analytical and Practical Approach
Department of Civil Engineering, FOECS, Teerthanker Mahaveer University Moradabad successfully organized one day online workshop on the topic 'Concrete Mix Design - Analytical and Practical Approach’ on 19th May, 2021. This workshop provided the opportunity to the students to gain detailed knowledge about mix design of concrete.
This online workshop was graced with the esteemed presence of Mr. O. P. Sharma, Managing Director of Qtech Ready Mix Concrete Jaipur, Prof. (Dr.) R. K. Dwivedi, Director of FOECS TMU, Moradabad, Prof. R. K. Jain, Head of Civil Engineering Department, Mr. Ankit Kumar Sharma, Co-ordinator of the workshop, Mr. A.K. Pipersania, Mr Amit Kumar, Ms. Nisha Sehal, faculty of Civil Engineering Department. Several curious industry persons, faculty members and students of different institutions actively participated in this workshop.
This workshop was commenced with the welcome speech by Prof. (Dr.) R.K. Jain (HOD, CED) in which he welcomed to the resource person Mr. O. P. Sharma, Managing Director of Qtech Ready Mix Concrete, Jaipur and Prof. (Dr.) R. K. Dwivedi, Director FOECS, TMU, Moradabad. Dr. Jain emphasized on the right proportion of ingredients (cement, fine aggregate, coarse aggregate, water and admixtures) in concrete.
After it Prof. R. K. Dwivedi addressed to the participants. He told about the different codal provisions of mix designing and recent amendments in mix design codes. He delivered his best wishes to Prof. R. K. Jain (HOD, CED), Mr. Ankit Kumar (Co-ordinator) and all organising team for successful conduction of this workshop.
This workshop was ended with the vote of thanks by Mr. Ankit Kumar Sharma, co-ordinator of the workshop. He conveyed his Vote of thanks to the session speaker Mr. O. P. Sharma, Managing Director of Qtech Ready Mix Concrete, Jaipur for this interactive and informative session. He paid his heartfelt thanks to him for giving their valuable time during such a critical situation of the pandemic. He conveyed his thanks to the Higher Management and administration of TMU for providing this opportunity. He extended his sincere thanks to Prof. R.K. Dwivedi, Director of FOECS. He was highly thankful to workshop Convenor, Prof. R. K. Jain (HOD, CED) and all the committee members for their enormous cooperation. He delivered his sincere thanks to all the participants for showing their interest and actively participating in this online workshop.
Overall the workshop was technically and practically sound. The long term expected result is to make students technically sound which will help them in building the path of their carrier.

'Concrete Mix Design - Analytical and Practical Approach’
After formal introduction, the resource person Mr. O. P. Sharma, Managing Director of Qtech Ready Mix Concrete, Jaipur was cordially invited by Mrs. Nikita Garg to grace the occasion with his knowledge.
In his expert talk Mr. Sharma shared his technical field knowledge and experience with the students. He inspired the students with his speech. Mr. O.P. Sharma talked about concrete, ingredients of concrete, different properties of ingredients and their effects on properties of flowable and hardened concrete. Mr. O.P. Sharma delivered the knowledge to the audience about new IS Code of concrete mix design (IS 10262-2019) and give them a problem/practice sheet for designing.
