IEEE Information Theory Society Inauguration, BMSIT&M

IEEE Information Theory Society Chapter, BMSIT&M was virtually inaugurated on 17th July 2021 at  10:30AM. The dignitaries who addressed from BMSIT&M in the ceremony were Dr. Mohan Babu GN(Principal, BMSIT&M), Dr. C S Mala(Dean, Student Welfare), Dr. Anjan Krishnamurthy(IEEE SB Counsellor, BMSIT&M), Dr. Sheela Kathavate(HOD Incharge, Dept of ISE) and Dr. Rudresh Shirwaikar(IEEE ITS Chapter Advisor, BMSIT&M).

The event was inaugurated with a warm welcome speech by Amandeep Singh(Vice Chair, IEEE ITS, BMSIT&M). Dr. C S Mala then formally welcomed all the dignitaries present on the dais and congratulated IEEE ITS Chapter for the start for the chapter. This was followed by Dr. Anjan Krishnamurthy and he discussed IEEE student chapters and activities conducted at BMSIT&M. Following this, Dr. Sheela Kathavate mentioned the plans for the contribution of the Department of ISE towards the IEEE ITS Chapter. 

Dr. Rudresh Shirwaikar formally launched IEEE ITS Chapter in BMSIT&M with a short video and spoke a few words on the launch of the new chapter. Dr. Parameshachari B D briefed about the IEEE ITS Chapter activities at Bangalore(Section) level. He also wished for the success of the chapter. Sir was accompanied by Flight Lieutenant A.T. Kishore Sir who addressed the participants and discussed IEEE events and activities. He mentioned the significance of IEEE in shaping the future of its members. He wished for the success of the chapter.

Disha Shanbhag(Chair, IEEE ITS Chapter) addressed the dais and discussed the events planned by the chapter for the year 2021- 2022. Dr. Mohan Babu GN, our beloved Principal had given the presidential address where he congratulated IEEE ITS Chapter for the commencement of the chapter and gave some valuable advice to the team. Finally, the event concluded with a vote of thanks by Amisha Sawlani(Secretary, IEEE ITS, BMSIT&M) to all the dignitaries present in the event.
