IEEE WIE Winnipeg Section and IEEE WIE Montreal Section are pleased to organize a LaTeX Workshop on How to Create Tables and Embed Figures to Draft a Journal Paper on Thursday, November 18, 2021 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM EDT. This workshop is suitable for intermediate and advanced LaTeX users.

Workshop Outline: In this 2-hour long workshop you will learn how to

✓ Insert and use packages such as graphicx, subfig, subfloats, caption, array, etc,
✓ Create tables using standard commands in LaTeX as well as packages,
✓ Set footnotes for tables,
✓ Use data from an existing text file (for example *.csv) to display as a table in LaTeX,
✓ Display graphics using the compatible file formats with LaTeX,
✓ Wrap figures and embed them into the text,
✓ Insert subfigures and set distinct captions for each figure separately,
✓ Use floating environment to insert algorithms,
✓ Reference figures and tables
✓ Create a list of figures and tables,
✓ Use IEEE journal format for inserting tables and figures and more…

Dr. Marzieh (Tamanna) Eini Keleshteri Dr. Marzieh (Tamanna) Eini Keleshteri of IEEE WIE Winnipeg Section

Biography:

Dr. Marzieh (Tamanna) Eini Keleshteri received an M.Sc. degree in pure mathematics from the University of Isfahan in Iran in 2007. She also received an M.Sc. degree in applied mathematics and computer sciences and a Ph.D. in mathematics from Eastern Mediterranean University, North Cyprus in 2011 and 2015, respectively. Currently, she is a Ph.D. candidate in electrical engineering at the University of Manitoba. She has acted as the vice-chair of the IEEE Women in Engineering (WIE), Winnipeg section since September 2019. Tamanna is a recipient of several prestigious awards, including the Price Graduate Scholarships for Women in Engineering. She has been an active LaTeX user since 2006.
