SLIIT Xtreme 1.0
The IEEE Computer Society of Sri Lanka Institute of Information Technology (SLIIT) organizes “SLIIT Xtreme 1.0” in collaboration with the Software Engineering Student Community of SLIIT, with the aim of conducting an online hackathon to introduce students of SLIIT to the IEEE Xtreme global programming competition. This event is proposed to be continued every year as a preparation event for IEEE Xtreme which is a flagship event of IEEE Computer Society.
SLIIT Xtreme is intended to provide the contestants an experience of the actual IEEE Xtreme competition environment which would immensely help them when the face the IEEE Xtreme competition. This will also meaningful way to spend the free time of students during the lockdown period while the whole country is going through a lockdown and travel restrictions due to the covid-19 pandemic. This event is proposed to be held online using the HackerRank platform to provide a similar experience to IEEE Xtreme. This will also be a 24-hour event similar to IEEE Xtreme but this year (2021) it will be held completely online without any physical attendance at SLIIT premises. The contestants will be provided a set of programming questions on an hourly basis similar to IEEE Xtreme and will be awarded points according to their performance. The contestants can participate in teams of 3 people each or individually as well. Teams with highest performance will be awarded certificates and prizes. Current Students of SLIIT are able to participate in this event and an IEEE Membership is not required to participate in this event.

This webinar will be hosted on the zoom platform and will also be live streamed on Facebook pages as well.
The main objective of this hackathon will be to introduce students of SLIIT to IEEEXtreme and thereby encourage them to take part in IEEEXtreme. The main objective of this event is to make contestants familiar with the environment of IEEEXtreme and how the Competition takes place. We also hope to enhance the programming skills of the students at SLIIT with the help of this Hackathon.
Additionally, we intend to increase the number of participants for IEEEXtreme with the support of SLIIT Xtreme Hackathon.
The event will be an online hackathon aimed at helping undergraduates at SLIIT to be more familiar with the IEEEXtreme Programming Competition. The hackathon will 24-hour event where the participants could participate individually or as a team of three where they solve a set of programming problems on the HackerRank platform. The registration process will be started via the IEEE Computer Society and Software Engineering Student Community social media pages which will collect details of the participants.
