Patent attorney David Cain will present on the basics of patenting and how patents are important engineers and inventors. We will discuss:

- What is the benefit of patenting an invention

David Cain is a registered patent attorney and is currently the Director of Patent Generation for GlobalFoundries. His team is responsible for filing hundreds of patents each year on semiconductor device and process inventions. David began his career as a circuit design engineer at IBM before leaving to attend Pepperdine Law School. He returned to IBM as a patent attorney and moved to GlobalFoundries in 2015.
