Offshoring a Competitive Business Strategy 


This will be an interactive and practical session focusing on the legal implications, IP protection, project delivery risk and key aspects of outsourcing. The panelists represent both outsourcing customers and service providers as well as professional and industry associations. The discussion will aim to provide insights and recommendations for CXOs looking to strategically leverage outsourcing.

Andre: Dr Andre Oboler is the Vice President (Members and Geographic Activities) of the IEEE Computer Society, also the CEO of the Online Hate Prevention Institute. He also serves as , a member of the Australian Government’s delegation to the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance, and as an honorary associate in the Law School at La Trobe University. He holds a PhD in Software Engineering & Process Improvement and also Juris Doctor in Law.

Champ: Champ Mendis is the Chief Data Scientist of Triple A Super, an adjunct lecturer, Charles Sturt University, Hony Asst Secretary of IEEE VIC/TAS Section.  He is also the former of head of IT, Telcom Regulatory Commission of Sri Lanka.  He has worked in several industries, including Finance, Defence, Health, Education, Transport, Telecom, Construction and Insurance. He had worked with international organisations including ITU, APT, SAFIR. He holds a PhD  in Computing and Information Systems, MEngSc in Mechatronics and BSc (Hons) in Computer Science. In his spare time, he plays Table Tennis and Chess, and enjoys cycling.

Mudith: Mudith heads business development for Calcey Technologies - a software product engineering company based in Sri Lanka, serving clients in USA, Europe and Asia Pac. He spearheaded Calcey’s expansion in Europe and the Asia Pacific. He’s an General Council member of SLASSCOM - the industry body for software and BPM companies in Sri Lanka. During his tenure, he led the introduction of the Global Referral Program - an initiative by Slasscom to leverage the global Sri Lankan diaspora to drive industry growth.
