Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Govt. of India has established ‘MHRD’s Innovation Cell (MIC)’ to systematically foster the culture of Innovation amongst all Higher Education Institutions (HEIs). The primary mandate of MIC is to encourage, inspire and nurture young students by supporting them to work with new ideas and transform them into prototypes while they are informative years. The main motto of the webinar was to engage a large number of Faculty, Students, and Staff in various innovation and entrepreneurship-related activities such as ideation, problem-solving, proof of concept development, etc. Our Honourable Speaker Dr. Kuldeep Sahay Sir has outlined the major points during the webinar such as : 

Major focus of IIC:

  • To create a vibrant local innovation ecosystem
  • Start-up supporting Mechanism in HEIs
  • Prepare institute for Atal Ranking of Institutions on Innovation AchievementsFramework
  • Establish Function Ecosystem for Scouting Ideas and Pre-incubation of Ideas

Functions of IICs:

  • To conduct various innovation and entrepreneurship-related activities prescribed by Central MIC in time bound fashion
  • Identify and reward innovations and share success stories
  • Create an Institution’s Innovation portal to highlight innovative projects carried out by the institution’s faculty and students
  • Organize Hackathons, idea competition, mini-challenges, etc. with the involvement of industries

Biography:

IIC President, Professor, Electrical Engineering Department at Institute of Engineering & Technology, Lucknow since 1996 . He has authored numerous research papers in National and International Journals, having good citations, and has also published a number of books like “Basic Electrical Engineering” Kuldeep Sahay by New Age International Publishers, “Diagnosis of Broken Rotor Bar in Inverter Fed Induction Motor Drives” and many more. He is the author and co-author of more than 78 Research Papers in various
reputed journals and conference proceedings. His research interests include the areas of Mathematical Modeling of Energy Storage System , Integration of Renewable Energy Systems.

He has been awarded “Shiksha Rattan Puraskar” and “Rashtriya Gaurav Award “by the India International Friendship Society New Delhi in 2011 for his exemplary contribution to research and academics.
