Talk Abstract :

In Solothurn (Derendingen), the technology world ENTER is being created - a technology museum on more than 5,000m² with an interactive exhibition, varied academy offers and exciting events. The focus lays on Swiss developments in computer and consumer electronics and the promotion of the young generation to counteract the shortage of skilled workers in technical professions. Awakening a pioneering spirit, shaping the future and making technical history accessible are the ambitions of this project.

How can a Swiss museum of technology be created? What are the challenges? And what drives the people behind this project? Museum director Violetta Vitacca provides the answers and insights to this ambitious undertaking.

Violetta Vitacca, Museum Manager, MSc Business Administration University of Bern

Violetta is convinced that Switzerland urgently needs a technology museum to give a worthy framework to the globally significant role of Swiss developments in computers and consumer electronics. With ENTER, she wants to create a platform for the exchange on technical topics between all players and generations. To reach this goal, she is breaking new ground in the conception of the exhibition, leading the internal and external teams, and connecting all stakeholders.
