Biography:

Dr. Venkata Ramana Naik N received the B.Tech. degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Sri Krishnadevaraya University, Anantapur, AP, India, in 2006, the M.Tech degree in Power Electronics from Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Anantapur, AP, India, in  2009, and the Ph.D. degree from the Department of Electrical Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee, UK, India, in 2016. He is a young professional member of IEEE and IEEE Industrial Electronics Society, USA. Since August 2015, he was joined as Assistant Professor Grade-II and was continuing as an Assistant Professor Grade-I in the Electrical Engineering Department, National Institute of Technology Rourkela, Orissa state, India. He supervised 23 projects for both M.Tech (18) and B.Tech (15) levels and is presently guiding five regular and four part-time Ph.D. students for both academic and emerging industrial-related research issues.

Dr. V. R. Naik published a total of 9 research manuscripts in prestigious SCI journals like Q1 IEEE Transactions on Industrial Electronics-3, IEEE Transactions on Power Electronics-1, Solar Energy (Elsevier)-1, International Transactions on Electrical Energy Systems (ITEES)-2, IETE Technical Review (Taylor and Francis)-1, and Electrical Power Components & Systems-1. Also, published 22 manuscripts in reputed IEEE national/international level conferences. In addition, one book in academic publishing and two book chapters were published in Springer and CRC Press, Taylor & Francis Group international level publishers.

The prestigious Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) fellowship was received during his full-time M.Tech and Ph.D. carrier. His Ph.D. thesis is evaluated with an overall A-Grade and received a Certificate of Appreciation for the sincere review in IEEE International Symposium on sustainable energy, signal processing, and cyber security (IEEE-iSSSC 2020). He is an external PG dissertation evaluation, technical chair in conferences, and gave many expert talks/STCs/FDPs at various institutes. Also, he is an active reviewer, for all aforementioned journals, other reputed transactions /Elsevier-Journals, and conferences.

His research interests include various pulse-width modulation techniques, power electronic control of motor drives, multilevel inverters, and applications of artificial intelligence. Currently, he is working on non-conventional energy sources like solar and wind, solid-state transformers for EV applications, BLDC motor drives, and hybrid electric vehicle applications.
