ABSTRACT:
This talk presents an approach that integrates a data-driven approach
into a solution procedure for a security constrained unit commitment
model (SCUC). SCUC is one of the fundamental models in power systems.
Solving it provides a key operating strategy in power systems.
Nowadays, there are many methods proposed to solve SCUC. However,
every method has its advantages and disadvantages when solving
different cases of SCUC. A data-driven approach learns from a huge
amount of historical data and is helpful to select a proper solution
method for specific cases of SCUC. In our study, for any specific
case, a data-driven approach chooses one from two solution methods: a
conventional method and an aggregation one. At last, we implement our
idea in the IEEE 118-bus system with real load curves and obtain a
desired performance.
