Dr. Mohan Rajesh

Biography:

Dr. Mohan Rajesh Elara is currently an Assistant Professor with the Engineering Product Development Pillar at Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD). He received his Ph.D. and M.Sc. degrees from the Nanyang Technological University in 2012 and 2005. He obtained his B.E. degree from the Amrita Institute of Technology and Sciences, Bharathiar University, India. His research interests are in robotics with an emphasis on self-reconfigurable platforms as well as research problems related to robot ergonomics and autonomous systems. He is the recipient of many international awards including, A’ Design Award, IDA Design Award, SG Mark Design Award, ASEE Best of Design in Engineering Award, and Tan Kah Kee Young Inventors’ Award. He is the co-founder of Lionsbot, a robotics company based in Singapore that develops and deploys a wide range of autonomous cleaning robots. This start-up grew its local customer base towards international market export. Especially in the European market where these cleaning robots are getting recognition in the healthcare sector for routine cleaning and disinfection tasks. He is also the co-founder of Oceania Robotics, which provides robotics solutions in the pest control industry, Shiphull maintenance, and vertical gardening. Their robots are currently showcased in Singapore Pavilion for World Expo held in Dubai 2021.

Dr. Akbar Vahidi

Biography:

Dr. Akbar is a scientist-entrepreneur who got his Ph.D. from NUS and has a decade of experience in enzyme technology and biocatalysis, delivered several industrial projects to big pharma, food and biofuel companies during his career in academia. He was the lead researcher in an interdisciplinary team that invented Allozymes’ technology for faster and cheaper enzyme development. Akbar then started Allozymes as co-founder and CTO, where he is excited to apply futuristic solutions to solve sustainable manufacturing problems by unlocking enzymes potential.
