INDUSTRIAL VISIT TO ONGC TEL BHAWAN, DEHRADUN
An Industrial Visit was organized by Civil Engineering Department , Uttaranachal Institute ofTechnology, Uttaranchal University on 7th October, 2021 for B.Tech III , V and VII semester students to to ONGC Tel Bhawan, Dehradun. The visit was conceptualized and conducted under the guidance of Prof. S.D.Pandey (Dean, UIT) Prof. A.K Agarwal and Mr. Awadhesh Chandramauli (HOD Civil). This visit was coordinated by Mr. Gaurav Thakur (Assistant Professor, Civil Engineering Department) and Mr.Ashish Pathani (Assistant Professor, Civil Engineering Department). An Industrial visit has its own significance in the career of a student pursuing a professional programme; the purpose of this visit was to provide students an insight into the process of drilling and extraction of crude oil.
Mr. Ashish Garg (Chief General Manager, Civil ONGC Dehradun) welcomed the students and briefed them about the company. The students were divided semester wise into 3groups and Mr. Garg along with his team took the lead and gave the students group a tour of the ONGC museum and green building which is an emerging construction technology in Civil Engineering. Green building reduces the carbon footprints therefore it is environmental friendly. Mr Garg invited queries from the student end. Many students raised their queries and he responded to them aptly and with proper details, students were elated by this practical exposure.
The visit proved to be a great learning experience for students. Students expressed their gratitude towards Prof. S.D.Pandey (Dean, UIT) Prof. A.K Agarwal and Mr. Awadhesh Chandramauli (HOD Civil) for providing them with opportunities beyond academics to enhance their knowledge and technical skills.
