The conference accepts two types of submissions -- full papers and abstract-only contributions. Accepted full papers will be submitted to IEEEXplore website (indexed in WoS and Scopus). Abstract-only submissions are ideal for presenting preliminary results or sharing ideas. Please note that abstract-only submissions will only appear in the book of abstracts (with ISBN), and will NOT be submitted to IEEEXplore.

The objective of the conference is to bring together theory experts and control systems practitioners, to evaluate the new avenues for techniques, design procedures and instruments in process control. The conference will feature plenary and keynotes lectures, standard parallel sessions, poster session, dedicated workshop, and rich social program. Contributions are invited to range from theoretically rigorous research works to industrial applications.

Despite the best hopes and efforts of the organizers,  the adverse pandemic situation still posed challenges. For this reason, the organizing committee has decided to organize the conference as a virtual event.

  Speakers

Cesar de Prada of Universidad de Valladolid Sede Mergelina, EII, Real de Burgos s/n., edificio Alfonso VIII 47011 Valladolid, Spain

Topic:

Implementing Optimization in the Process Industry

Professor of Systems Engineering and Automatic Control PhD in Physics (Electronics)

Biography:

Cesar de Prada is Emeritus Professor with the department of Systems Engineering and Automatic Control, in the School of Industrial Engineering, University of Valladolid, Spain. He received the Spanish Committee of Automatics award in 2016 and the ISA-Spain award to the professional 2008. He was also Manager of the Industrial and Design and Industrial Production research programmes of the Spanish Ministry of Science and Technology between 2000-04. His fields of interest focus on the control and dynamic optimization of process systems, as well as in modelling and simulation. His research topics are now focused on optimal management of large-scale systems, considering aspects such as scheduling, RTO, presence of uncertainty and hybrid continuous-discrete elements and hybrid model developments. The research combines the development of methods and algorithms with industrial applications and active participation in EU projects.
