The current boom of artificial intelligence and intelligent technologies has and will have a significant effect on society and individual lives. How to reap its benefits and avoid its risks? In this talk, several topics will be elaborated where technological decisions have ethical/moral dimensions: human-AI value alignment, big data, predictive algorithms, and human autonomy, affective computing, internet of things, autonomous weapons, effects of AI deployment on the job market. The current regulatory efforts on the EU level (AIA - Artificial Intelligence Act in preparation) will be presented, too.
