SFBAC PELS Webinar: High Power Density High Efficiency Altitude-ready Solid-state Circuit Breaker for Hybrid Electric Propulsion, 03/02/2022
The SFBAC (combined Santa Clara Valley, San Francisco, & Oakland/East Bay) IEEE Power Electronics Society (PELS) is very pleased to invite you to our Webinar. We are excited and honored to have Dr. Di Zhang from the Naval Postgraduate School to speak on the topic of “High Power Density High Efficiency Altitude-ready Solid-state Circuit Breaker for Hybrid Electric Propulsion.”
Naval postgraduate school is leading a multi-discipline team to develop a TRL 6 solid-state circuit breaker rated at 2 kV and 1.2 kA for NASA’s hybrid electric propulsion application. The specific power density target is higher than 100 kW/kg and the efficiency target is higher than 99.5%. The circuit breaker should also have the altitude capability at 35,000 ft or higher. This webinar will cover the application background, design principle and technical solutions to meet such challenging specifications. Especially, the module PD tests results at high altitude and the experimental results with e-MOV technique will be presented and explained in detail.
