Xinhai Zhang received his Ph.D. in automotive embedded system architecting from KTH in 2017. He is a certified functional safety engineer (in terms of ISO 26262) by TÜV. He has more than 5 years of research and working experience in the field of SOTIF (Safety Of The Intended Functionality) for automated driving systems. He is a consultant of Sigma Technology Consulting AB, and is currently working as a safety engineer in the automated driving department of Scania.

Ajit K. Verma, Professor (Technical Safety), Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences(FIN), Western Norway University of Applied Sciences, Haugesund, Norway; He has been in Norway as a Professor( Technical Safety) since 2012 and was a Professor /Senior (HAG) scale Professor for around 15 years at IIT Bombay with the Reliability Engineering/Department of Electrical Engg. He was an adjunct at the University of Stavanger, Norway and has been a Guest Professor at the Luleå University of Technology for the past several years. He was awarded (2017) Honorary Professor at Amity University, India and also a Life Time Achievement award at IIT Madras by SRESA. He has supervised/co-supervised 39 PhDs and over 100 Masters theses ( IITB; HVL,Norway; LJMU,UK; WMG,UK) in the area of Electronic Systems Reliability, Software Reliability, Reliable Computing, Power Systems Reliability, Reliability Centred Maintenance , Soft Computing in RAMS for Complex Engineering Systems and Probabilistic Safety/Risk Assessment in process and power plants. He has executed various research projects in India to promote industry interface and has been course coordinator for industry CEPs. He is a series editor of 4 Springer book series( Asset Analytics; Reliable and Sustainable Electric Power and Energy System Management; Fire Safety Engg and Management; Risk, Reliability and Safety Engineering ) and founding Editor-in-Chief of two journals ie ‘International Journal of System assurance Engineering and Management’; ‘Life Cycle Reliability and Safety Engineering’ published by Springer and was earlier the EIC of ‘Opsearch’ published by Springer.
