Female Foeticide


 A 5 days virtual event on the topic of “Female foeticide: a curse of society” was 
organised by IEEE WIE-AG BBDITM in collaboration with IEEE BBDITM STB held virtually 
from January 30,2022-February 03,2022. The day1 WIE session was held virtually on 30 
January,2022 from 11:00AM to 12:30 PM on the Zoom app.
The topic of the session was “women empowerment”
 The main objective of this session was to inform the participants about the women 
empowerment and raising self-esteem and self-confidence of women. Elimination of 
discrimination and all forms of violence against women and girl child.
The overall session included the expert lecture of Dr. Reena Kumari (assistant professor)
department of economics CM college, Lalit Narayan Mithila university, Darbhanga, Bihar.
The inaugural session was successfully conducted with the positive results

Dr. Reena Kumari (assistant professor)

Biography:

Dr Reena Kumari.
Dr Reena holds a phD in economics from the Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi. She did her Post Graduation (2008) in Economics from Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapeeth and graduated in Economics from Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi in 2006. She did her Intermediate  from RSM Inter College, Robertsganj, Sonebhadra in 2003 and High School  from Guru Nanak Girls Higher Secondary School, Robertsganj, Sonebhadra in 2001.
Presently, she is  working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Economics, Chandradhari Mithila College, a constituent college of L.N. Mithila University, Darbhanga, Bihar 
Formerly, she was Assistant Professor at the Department of Business and Management in GLA University, Mathura from 2016 -17.Maam worked as a consultant at Indian Council for Research on International Economic Relations (ICRIER), New Delhi, on a project from 2015 -16.  And for a  project funded by MHRD 
 She was a Research Associate in ICSSR funded project, at the Foundation for Public Economics and Policy Research, New Delhi from, 2013 -14. Dr Reena taught Macro Economics and Public Economics to under-graduate students in the Department of Economics, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi,from 2009 to 2013.
 Dr Reena is a  Life Member of Indian Association for Research in National Income and Wealth and a Life Member of Indian Health Economics and Policy Association





Agenda

 The WIE Session was organised to provide a great opportunity to share the contribution 
of women in the progress of modern society. The main aim of the session was to promote 
the full and equal participation of women in political, civil, economic, social and cultural life, 
at the national regional and international levels. 
The event focuses to assist the participants about the importance of women in every field
and equality for women like respect and opportunity as equal to men. Because women are 
also able to run a society and they can do much better contribution in every field and they 
can make a healthy, nourishing, happy and powerful environment for every of us.
