This webinar is intended to train volunteers to participate in IEEE Oral History Projects. THe IEEE History Center has 900 oral histories as of January 1, 2022. The webinar will be led by Dr. Mary Ann Hellrigel, Archivist, Institutional Historian, and Manager of the IEEE Oral History Program.
The techniques can be applied to the current IEEE Life Fellow Oral History Project, but can also be used for local sections and chapters to record their own histories for the IEEE collections.

Dr. Hellrigel has been the Archivist and Institutional Historian at the IEEE History Center for the past 7 years.
Dr. Hellrigel has been the Archivist and Institutional Historian at the IEEE History Center for the past 7 years.
She taught history at various universities/colleges for 30 years.

Associate Professor: Stevens Institute of Technology
Assistant Professor: Cal State, Chico
Assistant Professor: New Jersey Institute of Technology
At Rutgers University, she spent 6 years as an editor of the Thomas A. Edison Papers.
Education:
Ph.D., in History of Technology and Science, Case Western Reserve University
Her Dissertation research focused on the commercialization of light, heat, and power technology, 1880s through 1920s.
IEEE Life Member committee funded one year of this dissertation work.
