“MENTOR MENTEE MEETING” under Orientation cum Vision Building Program of IIC (Under Ministry of Education, Govt. of India)
A virtual meeting for the mentee institute was conducted for the faculties and students of GOEL Institute on February 11, 2022, from 2-3 pm. Dr. Aruna Bhat was the convener of the mentor institute (RIT Roorkee) while Dr. Priyanka Jaiswal was the convener of the mentee institute (GOEK Institute of Technology & Management, Lucknow). Mr. Shyam Kumar was the eminent speaker who spoke on the topic “PoCs developed & linkage with Innovation Ambassadors for Mentorship support”. Dr. Aruna Bhat welcomed all the faculties of IIC- RIT Roorkee along with the faculties and students of GOEL Institute of Technology & Management. Dr. Rishi Asthana (President-IIC Goel Institute and Director GITM) spoke about the institute and highlighted the initiatives taken by the institute for conducting various webinars, workshops, and training in the field of innovation and startups. After going through the profile of Mr. Shyam Kumar, the program started with the basic understanding of Proof of Concepts and its importance in Startups and building innovations in educational institutes. Mr. Shyam explained the ecosystem for creating an environment to help students to come up with their novel ideas and also the importance of having the right attitude and beliefs on which the whole system depends. He also explained how angel investors can invest their money to help in generating the business. The students and the faculty took a very interest in understanding the concept by asking many queries. The program ended with a vote of thanks. Mr. Amit K. Rawat (RIT) presented a vote of thanks while Dr. Jyoti Agarwal (IPR Activity Coordinator and HOD- MBA Goel Institute) presented a vote of thanks from the mentee institute. More than 300 participants were present in this program. The program ended at 3:30 pm.

Mr. Shyam Kumar is serving as Manager at IIM Lucknow-SIDBI Centre for Innovations in Financial Inclusion (SCIFI), a social incubator at IIM Lucknow. He is having vast professional, entrepreneurial & incubator space experiences. Over the years of experiences in the ecosystem of entrepreneurial paradigm, had seen many such ventures from shaping ideas to scalable business. He had successfully implemented a couple of skill & entrepreneurial projects of the Government of India. He graduated from Lucknow University in Math & Statistics and MCA from JSSATE, UPTU.
