It is a great way to teach hands on skills as it gives learners an opportunity to try out new methods and fail in a safe environment. Taking this into consideration IEEE - VBIT SB has come up with an initiative to conduct a Workshop and Hackathon on Machine Learning to aid students to build their practical skills and dwell deep into advancing technologies. Workshop mainly focuses on introducing new ideas, inspire students to further explore on their own or illustrate and promote actual process practice. It helps students to understand more about Machine Learning which include automation of tasks, wide range of applications, scope of improvement, efficient handling of data, various algorithms of ML.

  Procedure:

  • Students are formally notified about the webinar through WhatsApp and other Social Media.
  • Interested students can register through the form provided.
  • All the registered students were notified with the venue details one day prior.

   3^rd March, 2022:

  • The registered students are expected to assemble in the Nalanda Auditorium.
  • This was followed by an Inauguration ceremony by the dignitaries present which is then continued by an Introductory session of the speaker.
  • The speaker delivered a presentation of the agenda of workshop and hackathon to all the participants.
  • This was followed by the first session of the workshop which includes all the basics of Python programming.
  • Post lunch, the session continued with the types of Machine Learning and various Regression algorithms.

  4^th March, 2022:

  • On the second day of workshop, participants were briefed more about Machine Learning concepts in third session which includes Classification and Clustering algorithms.
  • Post lunch, Hackathon officially commenced at 11:00 AM where the teams discussed their ideas with trainer. After grasping the inputs, students  started hands-on challenges.
  • Students built their models using Machine Learning concepts throughout the midnight.

  5^th March, 2022:

  • Post breakfast, students projects were monitored by the Industry Mentors and helped them in improving their ideas.
  • The session was continued by the students pitching their ideas to the jury members.
  • The esteemed jury members scrutinized all the projects on various parameters and top 3 parameters are shortlisted.
  • Top 3 teams was awarded by the dignitaries.
  • Top performers were given an internship opportunity by the Industry Mentors.
  • This was then followed by the Felicitation and Valedictory session.
  • On completion, a quick feedback session is held where the audience feedback was collected via a form.
  • This was followed by the Vote of Thanks.
