Consider a Proposal for Section Sponsorship:
Evening of Innovation - Initiated by a member of the SD IEEE section, this is the 2nd year of this innovative event which brings together IEEE VIPs, local community, IEEE UPP students and the IEEE Medal winners, in an extraordinary evening with panel discussions and post-event networking. Event date is May 5th, 4:00-8:00 PM at Qualcomm Jacobs Auditorium.  SD Section was a previous sponsor, budget ask for $2000 (or if wish to sponsor the networking event $4000).  Fees include media, networking event, event staff, buses and catering of food

Consider a Proposal for Section Sponsorship: 
MOVE Initiative - A major Region 6 initiative is to bring a recently acquired MOVE truck to the Western Region of the US.  The MOVE truck is sponsored by IEEE-USA and provides an opportunity for IEEE to volunteer and engage to support disaster relief and STEM activities in several technical areas - including Communications, Satelites, Weather, Ham radio, STEM education, Red Cross IT and IT support.  Budget ask for $2000 to support the MOVE initiative to western region and/or consider $5000 if  SD Section would like request for truck to visit  for SD STEM or chapter events (event or section pays fees for driver/gas etc)

Section participation in Del Mar Electronics and Manufacturing Show
Mike Bryant explains: For over 20 years the IEEE San Diego Section has had a booth at the Del Mar Electronics and Manufacturing Show.   The deal is that in exchange for the section “inviting” their mailing list to the show, the show gives the section a free booth.   The section has to mail to their list twice (once a few weeks before and once the week before).   The show can supply a template.

In the past the section has found that their booth brings in a lot of their members, old members that can be re-signed, and some new members.  It also brings a lot of visibility to the IEEE section to the San Diego Electronics industry in general.

The show manager is once again offering the same deal to the section.   The show is May 4th and 5th (Weds and Thurs).   The show did not occur the past two years due to COVID.  They are planning for almost a full show for 2022, but it will be somewhat smaller.

The Consultants’ Network has had a similar deal over the years.  The CN also provided speakers for the show.   Due to the general state of the Consultants’ Network post pandemic, we are not sure if they will be participating or not.   We are still determining if we can get enough members to provide collateral for a booth or not.
