An Electric REVOLUTION

As Earth Day approaches and the price of gasoline continues to hover near record highs, interest in electrified transportation has soared—but has that translated to more electric vehicles (EVs) on the road? During this talk, we'll take a deep dive into the EV adoption rate across the world and why some countries might be moving faster than others. Then, learn about the future of EVs, their projected growth, and how better batteries, battery recycling, and vehicle-to-grid technology will work together to build a more sustainable world. This program will be presented by Kopernik educator and EV owner Jeremy Cartie.

Doors open at 7:30 and the program begins at 8:00 PM. If the skies are clear, our domes will be open for you to view the night skies through Kopernik's telescopes both before and after the program.

Regarding masking: The Kopernik Observatory and Science Center will continue to follow CDC guidance regarding COVID-19 prevention. When the level of COVID-19 in Broome County is HIGH, masks will be required for all, inside the main building and domes, regardless of vaccination status. When the level is MEDIUM or LOW, masks will not be required. People can wear a mask based on personal preference.

People with symptoms, a positive test, or exposure to someone with COVID-19 should wear a mask. Those who are immunocompromised or at high risk for severe illness should talk to their healthcare provider about whether they need to wear a mask and take other precautions.
