Agenda

AGENDA

Topic I

Some critical parameters of antennas used for EMC testing

Date

22nd March 2022, 13:00 – 13:45 pm (CET)

Description

Antennas used for radiated emission measurements should meet specific requirements set by EMC basic standards. We will discuss the main non-idealities of EMC antennas and the relevant standard specifications.

Speaker

Carlo Carobbi,
Department of Information Engineering, Università degli Studi di Firenze, Firenze, Italy

Topic II

Wideband antennas for EMC measurements and microwave imaging

Date

22nd March 2022, 14:00 – 14:45 (CET)

Description

Fundamentals of ultra wide-band antennas will be presented with the aim of highlighting the time domain behavior of measured signals. Time domain parameters of antennas will be introduced and some applications in EMC as well as in microwave imaging will be discussed to derive proper design methodologies.

Speaker

Agostino Monorchio,
Full Professor of Electromagnetic Fields at the University of Pisa and IEEE Fellow

Topic III

Selecting RF Antennas for EMC Immunity Testing

Date

22nd March 2022, 15:00 – 15:45 (CET)

Description

The correct selection of antennas for radiated immunity is paramount with respect to efficiency, field strength and the required test illumination area. AR has a vast array of antenna’s for different tests and frequency ranges, from field generators down to 10KHz, log-periodic antenna up to 12GHz and horn antenna’s up to 50GHz. Presentation will include the AR patented Radiant Arrow/Log-Periodic antenna for reduced size but high power and the AR Trapezoidal Log Periodic antenna which has high isotropic gain with a wide beamwidth as required for the EN61000-4-3 standard.
