Women’s equal participation and leadership in all spheres of life are essential to meet the challenges of the twenty-first century. The power and energy field is one field with the least number of women representation. At this round table, we interact with ladies who have managed to excel in this field beyond all circumstances.

Biography:

Mercy is an Electrical and Humanitarian Engineer with unending interest in Renewable Energy Technologies. Her passion lies in leveraging green energy for sustainable development of our communities through social, economic and environmental empowerment. She advocate for inclusion of women voices in all sectors of the energy value chains.

She has 4 years of expertise in business and fund development in off-grid electrification projects, and capacity building to improve the uptake of electricity for socio-economic community development. Having worked with multinational organizations, she has experience in the different country models and optimizing the power delivery models for proper uptake by the end users to ensure profit margins for the IPP while ensuring mutual maximum benefit.

Biography:

Sally is the Design and Construction (D&C) Engineer at the Kenya Power and Lighting Company (KPLC). Her greatest achievement is working as the lead for the last mile connectivity program aimed at achieving universal access in partnership with key sector financiers such as the World Bank, AFD, AfDB, and The Government of Kenya among others, through this role as the D&C In Charge, Kitui County. she received training and certification in Enterprise Risk Management.
