Non-terrestrial Networks: Connecting the Dots between Ground, Air, and Space
Abstract:
Next-generation wireless networks are envisioned to break the boundary of the current ground-focused paradigm and fully embrace drone and satellite communications. In a quest for anything, anytime, anywhere connectivity, this vertical (r)evolution entails defining and intelligently orchestrating a new integrated terrestrial-plus-non-terrestrial network architecture. In this talk, we will connect the dots between ground, aerial, and spaceborne communications and outline much-needed research to enable such a 3D wireless vision.
